Stand up for your neighbourhood - Louvain
‘Stand up for your neighbourhood’ supports all Leuven residents with ideas to improve life in their neighbourhood. The residents are central: they come up with the ideas, and the city looks for ways to support them in this through an involved partnership. With the ‘Stand up for your neighbourhood’ projects, Leuven residents actively contribute to a close-knit and liveable community. These initiatives not only make the neighbourhood more pleasant, but also create space for cooperation and offer residents the chance to get to know each other better.
Jozef Pierrestraat is a good example where neighbours have joined forces to green their street and turn it into a pleasant natural environment. Paving, traffic calming, façade planting and tree planting are some examples.
