Park garden - Betekom

The diversity of our nursery is nicely illustrated in this park garden. The thoughtful use of evergreen conifers provides a green buffer. The combination of diverse deciduous trees and solitary shrubs brings excitement and dynamism to the garden. Some of the unique species used in this park garden include Sequoiadendron giganteum, Maackia amurensis, Gymnocladus dioica, Pinus densiflora 'Umbraculifera', Tilia henryana, Quercus palustrus 'Isabel', Quercus 'Pondaim', Quercus 'Crimson Spire', Cryptomeria japonica, and various Ginkgo and Magnolia species.

Quercus 'Crimson Spire'

Quercus 'Crimson Spire' is a columnar oak that grows to approximately 16-18 m tall and 3-4 m wide. This is one of the best new columnar forms. The tree is exceptionally resistant to disease and mildew, has an attractive lobed leaf and a wonderful red autumn colour. The brown leaves remain on the tree for an extremely long time in the winter.
